I would like to introduce you to my niece Ebony Rose. She is 2yo, a very strong girl who has the whole world at her feet (well, literally the whole family and friends) who adores her and is a girl with a mind of her own.
She was born 25.5 weeks premature on Valentine’s day 2012, my sister and her partner was told that she will not make it and to spend more time holding her before she passes. It was hard for everyone, especially for both my sisters and me, our mother passed away 2 months before Ebony’s birth from cancers. I drove 4 hours from Cairns to Townsville hospital as much I could to be there for my sister and to support her. When I heard from my sister that Ebony may not make it but she didn’t want to believe it, I got there as soon as I could. There she was, so tiny I could fit her in my hand yet so beautiful and I was trying so hard not to cry. But then at that moment when I had my hand in the crib to hold her tiny hand, I felt mum’s presence in spirit, she’s here watching over her grandchild. It was like a big relieve, I looked back at Ebony and she’s got so much fight in her. I encouraged my sister to keep giving cuddles. I’ve researched earlier that babies survive from mother’s touch and I’m so glad I did, it did help them both. Today, 2 years and 5 months later, she proved the doctors wrong. She is a happy little girl, nothing will stop her from living! A Viking Warrior in her.
I’ve created a video of her lifetime, hope you enjoy watching…
Blessed be,
Cynthia xo
